How to request a book that is currently out on loan.
- Search the catalogue for the item you want and click on the 鈥楻equest it鈥 button.
- You will be prompted to enter your name and user number. (Your user number is the number under the barcode on the front of your Library card or on the Library web app).
- Once a reservation is placed on a book the current borrower will not be able to renew it again.
- Click on the 鈥渞equest it鈥 button.
- You will be prompted to enter your name and user number. (Your user number is the number under the barcode on the front of your Library card).
- The book will then be processed as soon as possible
- You will be notified by email when the book is available or you may check by logging in to your . The book will have the status 鈥淩eady. Must pick up by 鈥..鈥.
- Reserved books will be held for 8 days.
- If the book is loanable, it will be held under your last name on the self-service hold shelf trolley next to the self-issue machines. You can issue the book to yourself.
- If the book is reference only, it will be held for you at the Service Desk where staff can issue it to you for use during staffed hours.
We encourage you to cancel any reservations you no longer require, for the benefit of the next person in the queue. If you wish to cancel a reservation, you may do so by logging into your , click on requests, use the tick box to highlight the item(s) and then cancel. You can email senatehouselibrary@london.ac.uk, or ask staff at the Service Desk to cancel the reservation for you.
