Research at Institute in Paris

As a British institution in the heart of Paris and Europe, the àËÅöÊÓƵ Institute in Paris has a rich history of intercultural education and research which interrogates central questions of identity, society, culture and international politics

The àËÅöÊÓƵ Institute in Paris affords a unique opportunity for researchers to work in Paris, enjoying both the richness of the àËÅöÊÓƵ and the cultural, philosophical and political vibrancy of Paris.

Research at the Institute reflects the multilingual, intercultural and interdisciplinary environment and seeks to answer contemporary questions of cultural production, international politics and environmental humanities, especially as these are reflected in transnational exchange. Researchers work closely with different communities in Paris to develop our understanding of how France and the francophone world are positioned, both within local diversity and in wider global dynamics.

Research centres around four key themes:

Researchers are committed to ensuring their work has a lasting impact on policy and society. The institute has a well-established reputation for collaboration with partners from both sides of the Channel and works extensively with academic and cultural institutions, community organisations and local government in France and the UK.

The Institute is proud to offer a programme of lively and varied research seminars and events throughout the year. The Institute attracts speakers from the international academic community, the media and cultural sector, government bodies, and NGOs for regular lectures and debates. All the Institute’s events are free of charge and open to all.
