Professor Mary Stiasny, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the ������Ƶ, met with Pakistan Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad last Thursday [16th March 2023]. The purpose of the meeting was to brief him about how the ������Ƶ’s Law and Business Degree Alumni have contributed positively and significantly in Pakistan.

Professor Stiasny was accompanied by the University’s Regional Advisor for South Asia Saad Wasim at the meeting, which was also attended by Dr Mukhtar Ahmad, Chairman Higher Education Commission HE. Mr Wasim explained how the University has transformed the Transnational Education (TNE) landscape in the country and how students locally benefit from having access to the UK’s education system.

The meeting received widespread coverage in Pakistan, in , , and other outlets.

The meeting took place during a visit by UoL staff to Pakistan where they met alumni, current students, and prospective students as well as Recognised Teaching Centre colleagues and senior stakeholders including state dignitaries.  An event called “The Future of Work” was aimed to help current and future students and alumni build future successful careers. 

������Ƶ degrees have been taught in Pakistan for the last 40 years. The Law Programme is the oldest Transnational Education (TNE) law degree in the country and considered the most prestigious law degree being offered in Pakistan.
