Brunel University 嗨碰视频 to join 嗨碰视频 federation鈥

Brunel University 嗨碰视频 will join the 嗨碰视频 federation from 1 October 2024, in a move that will strengthen the federation and open up new opportunities for collaboration between universities in 嗨碰视频.鈥

The 嗨碰视频 is a unique federation of 17 independent higher education institutions, delivering world-leading education and research. The 嗨碰视频 federation represents one of the largest and most diverse student bodies in the world, with more than 250,000 students from 190 countries. Collectively, federation member universities employ over 50,000 staff. 

Federation members collaborate on a range of initiatives including transnational education programmes, online learning, research and knowledge exchange. Students and staff from federation member institutions enjoy a range of benefits including membership of Senate House Library; access to student study spaces; inter-collegiate accommodation services; opportunities to collaborate with the School of Advanced Study (SAS), the 嗨碰视频 Institute in Paris and the Centre for Online and Distance Education (CODE).鈥 

The addition of to the federation will open up new opportunities for collaboration with both the central 嗨碰视频 and with other federation members on research, teaching and distance learning programmes. Brunel鈥檚 position as an anchor institution in west 嗨碰视频 will help expand and deepen the federation鈥檚 engagement with local communities across the capital. 鈥 

The decision to admit Brunel University 嗨碰视频 to the federation follows a rigorous process led by a 嗨碰视频 panel. This recognised Brunel University鈥檚 key role in west 嗨碰视频鈥檚 economy and communities and its global reputation for technical and professional education and research. 鈥 

The panel also acknowledged that Brunel鈥檚 commitment to addressing the needs and challenges of society 鈥 both in 嗨碰视频 and globally 鈥 aligned well with the 嗨碰视频 and the social mission of the federation. The 嗨碰视频 is the UK鈥檚 largest provider of international online and distance education, which it delivers in partnership with federation members to improve access to higher education around the world.鈥 

Professor Wendy Thomson CBE, Vice-Chancellor of the 嗨碰视频, said: 鈥淲e are delighted to welcome Brunel University 嗨碰视频 to the 嗨碰视频 federation. Brunel has a strong global outlook and is ranked among the UK's top institutions internationally. Its impressive education and research鈥痯ortfolio, particularly in engineering and sciences, will enable the federation to achieve even greater impact across 嗨碰视频 and beyond. Brunel鈥檚 strong ties to west 嗨碰视频 communities and industries will also expand the federation鈥檚 civic reach, allowing us to increase engagement with this vibrant part of the capital.鈥濃

Over the past two centuries, the 嗨碰视频 federation has grown and changed, but the core purpose of collaboration and delivering some of the UK鈥檚 best higher education and research has remained the same. Its federation members are all independent institutions in their own right and vary significantly in size and subject, but all offer the world-leading education that the 嗨碰视频 federation is known for. Collectively, the federation鈥檚 impact on 嗨碰视频 is great. Located across the city, its members are embedded in their communities, shaping local areas and contributing to local economies through their focus on civic engagement.鈥
