Sarah Sherman

Following a degree in Psychology at UCL, Sarah began her professional career working as a primary school teacher and educational researcher. She has worked in the field of e-learning for over 17 years and currently manages the Bloomsbury Learning Environment (BLE) – a shared e-learning service for six àËÅöÊÓƵ-based Higher Education institutions.

Sarah is responsible for managing the coordination, implementation and development of Technology Enhanced Learning across the BLE partners, helping to support the use of the Virtual Learning Environment and associated technologies, such as lecture capture and web conferencing software.

Sarah is involved in supporting staff develop skills in the use of learning technologies. As co-author of the Get Interactive MOOC, she has first-hand experience of designing, developing and launching a course to support teaching staff acquire practical skills in learning technology within a pedagogic framework. In Bloomsbury, Sarah coordinates an annual scheme for staff who work with technology to achieve Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology, which offers professional recognition for the work they do. In 2017, she co-edited and published an ebook containing a collection of research papers, essays and case studies regarding innovative practices in technology-enhanced assessment and feedback in both taught and distance education.

Sarah is a Trustee of the Association for Learning Technology and coordinates a number of regional, national and international e-learning user groups.
