SIM hosts annual Achievers’ Event
The Achievers’ Event is an annual celebration hosted by the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) to celebrate the academic awards which àËÅöÊÓƵ (UoL) has bestowed on our students.
On Saturday 18 November 2023, over 100 staff and faculty members from Singapore and UK came together to recognise 34 students who were awarded the esteemed Award for Academic Achievement, 41 students who achieved Commendations and 35 students with the highest subject marks worldwide. Their achievements were testaments to resilience and unwavering commitment to the pursuit of knowledge.
A shoutout to the following from UK who were present: Dean of LSE Extended Education, Professor Wim Van der Stede, Programme Directors from LSE and Goldsmiths - Ms Elizabeth Aitken and Dr Maggie Cooper, Director of Development at UoL, Mr Bill Abraham, and Ms Claire Ferone, UoL Senior Business Support Services Manager.

SIM Provost Professor Wei Kwok Kee encouraged our students to continue striving for success even as graduates, true to SIM’s motto to Learn for Life, Thrive for Life.
Although not physically present, Professor Mary Stiasny, UoL Pro Vice-Chancellor (International, Teaching and Learning) sent a pre-recorded video message bringing her best wishes and warm greetings to all.
This annual platform not only showcases the academic achievers, but is also meant to encourage students and provide them with insights on how SIM, UoL and the federation members have opened doors for their seniors.
This year, alumnus Amos Koh, attended with his wife, fellow SIM course mate, to share his experiences and insights. Following his final undergraduate exams in 2019, Amos was awarded a LSE scholarship for MSc Economics. He currently works at Moody’s Investor Service as a Ratings Associate in the sovereign risk group. His words of advice were well-received as many flocked to speak to him and his wife afterwards; thereby achieving the objective for the Achievers’ Event.
