In 2022, Queen Mary won the ‘University of the Year’ award at the sixth annual UK Social Mobility Awards. This follows a 2021 report by the Institute for Fiscal Studies in partnership with the Sutton Trust and UK Government’s Department of Education that named the University as the best in the country for social mobility, and the 2021 Sunday Times Good University Guide which noted that “Queen Mary continues to prove that social inclusion and academic success are not mutually exclusive.†

Queen Mary is embedded in the heart of àËÅöÊÓƵ with campuses in Mile End, Whitechapel, Lincoln’s Inn Field, West Smithfield, Charterhouse Square, Newham and Ilford. It also has a presence in Malta, Paris, Singapore and China. Regarding public engagement, Queen Mary was the first UK university to receive the Gold Watermark (in 2016) and the Platinum Watermark (in 2021) from the UK’s National Co-ordinating Centre for Public Engagement.
